John was a great guy, really easy to talk to and I remember being so happy for him when he got promoted to helpline supervisor. I'm glad I got to work with him for so long and I'm definitely going to miss him.

I haven't worked in John's team for a while but even after I left the Helpline he somehow remained present in my life, probably because of how helpful and reliable he was, the kind of person you would turn to and know he would be there for you. Reading through the comments people have left for John I can say with all my heart that they are all absolutely true. I don't feel I have anything to add, he really was the best colleague anyone could ask for.

John Baird, JB, Johnny…and many more. Names we knew him by. People he was. A good friend. A good listener. A good advice giver. A good perspective balancer. A good colleague. So many good memories of happy times spent in and out of work. On holiday. In the pub. At a birthday bash. Some Christmas fun. A quick curry. A long whisky tasting. An in depth discussion about saving the world. We never managed but had fun trying. So many more stories we can’t share here but I know we will smile remembering the times we had over the years.
