Remembering John
Firstly, I would not normally state such personal thoughts in a public way and I know John would raise a glass to that as well. However, I know he would also be so appreciative of some of the fantastic comments made on this site. I can see that everyone else felt the same way about John by their comments, so I don't have much to add. I met John well over 20 years ago at the Erskine Medical Library and he provided as much amusement then as he did the last day I saw him. John was in the small support team at the Library, but he was always more of a friend than anything else. We often visited Sandy Bells, along with Jed etc and in the latter years I would have a pint with John and big Dave in the Blue Blazer, usually more than once a week. I'm thankful for John's friendship, support and kindness over the years. RIP big guy...... Hibs supporter, but I'll forgive you :-)
My final thought is John was one of life's "good guys" and will be sorely missed. But we must celebrate that razor sharp humour.
